NBSC Joins the 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, Strengthening Disaster Preparedness and Response Readiness
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), in compliance with Republic Act 10121, or the “Philippine Republic Disaster Risk Reduction Management Act of 2010,” participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2025, which aims to test an institution’s readiness in the event of a major earthquake.
Held on September 11, 2025, at 11:30 AM, the event was successfully organized through the coordination of the Campus Safety Management Office (CSMO) led by Mr. John Mark Boyonas and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) led by Mr. Fritchar H. Gevero, in collaboration with other key emergency personnel.
Administrators, faculty, staff, and students applied the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” after the siren signalled the start of the drill. Converging in the NBSC Field in pairs through a buddy system, headcounts were made by the team leaders who, in turn, reported to the designated safety officials. An incident command post was established to oversee coordination and ensure proper execution of emergency response protocols. Response procedures were then implemented, like communication management and search and rescue.
Through this execution, NBSC continues to remain prepared for unexpected emergencies in order to safeguard and protect its community.
